Eco Funding
The ECO (Energy Company Obligation)
ECO funding is energy saving installation measures paid for in part or full by the big six energy suppliers who are obligated by the government to provided funding towards your energy saving installation if you or your property qualifies.
Under the Government’s new ECO grant scheme, if you are:
- Living in a hard to treat property (solid brick, stone wall or thin cavity walls)
- Live in low income area or your property is a joined onto a low income area
- Receiving benefits
Then you may be entitled to many FREE energy saving measures.
The Three ECO Obligations…
Carbon Saving Obligation (CERO)
To provide funding to insulate solid-walled properties (internal and external wall insulation) and those with ‘hard-to-treat’ cavity walls.
These measures can be used in conjunction with the Green Deal.
The aim is to provide enough support to make these relatively expensive measures cost-effective with no upfront cost to the end users via the green deal scheme.
Affordable Warmth Obligation (HHCRO)
To provide heating and insulation improvements for low-income and vulnerable households who are in receipt of certain benefits.

Carbon Saving Communities Obligation (CSCO)
To provide insulation measures to people living in the bottom 15% of the UK’s most deprived areas.
Postcodes in low income area and postcodes that are adjoined to low income areas will qualify for CSCO funding. Call ESP Enterprise on 01282 449459 we can check your postcode to see if your property qualifies.
Through ECO Funding Scheme, the government aims to help 230,000 low-income households or those in low-income areas. Of the expected investment by suppliers of £1.3bn per year, there will be a 75:25 split between the carbon and affordable warmth obligations.
